My work explores the intersections of the tangible and the imagined by blending magazine images with intricate colored pencil drawings of three-dimensional forms. I draw inspiration from mythical and religious imagery, focusing on the in-between moments where transitions, shifts, and boundaries are most keenly felt.
Through an Afro-futurist lens, I reimagine these spaces as realms of possibility, where the past, present, and future converge to challenge and expand our understanding of existence. The process of blending colored pencils becomes meditative; a way of contemplating and visualizing the intangible. In this practice, I find a deep connection to the act of imagining by crafting new worlds that speak to the complexity and richness of human experience.
